Children are such an important part of the life of our families and our church community. Through first:link on Tuesday nights, our desire is to partner with our families in being children’s first connections into a life of following Christ. We develop exciting, creative, and consistent environments that provide nursery through 6th graders safe opportunities to learn about God and to develop relationships with peers and adult teachers. In doing this, we desire to promote TNLC’s core values of being a holistic, transformational, communal, and missional church.

| Nursery |
(located on the main floor, near the bookstore) |
This level is for children
between 6-weeks and 2-years-old
Our desire is that the
nursery would demonstrate Christ's love to young children
through genuine care. Creating a safe and secure
environment is one of our top priorities. The nursery is
staffed by those within TNLC who have a love for young
children and a heart to provide parents with time to
spend in worship. We are careful to sanitize our nursery toys and changing areas to help ensure your children’s health. There is a small snack each week for the older nursery children. We ask parents to provide any bottles, diapers, and change of clothes needed for us to care for each child. |

| Primary |
This level is for children that
are between the ages of two through three and a half year olds
(located on the garden level) |
The toddler, pre-k and
kindergarten levels of first:link are where the
understanding of the love of God and following Jesus begins to form. Our desire is that children receive
individual attention and begin to learn the principles
of the Christian faith. This is done through simple,
creative activities. Leaders and workers in the toddler-prek-k
levels are required to provide a high level of
consistency to create a safe and comfortable
environment. We currently use Group
Publishing's Hands On and Faithweaver curricula in
these classes. |

This level is for those children
that older than three, but have not yet begun kindergarten
(located on the garden level) |
This level is for those children
that are currently in kindergarten
(located on the garden level) |
| Elementary |
(located on the garden level) |
These are the grade school levels of FirstLink. The grades correspond to the level of school
these children are in currently
The elementary levels of first:link are where the concepts of faith and the practices of following Christ are modeled for and adopted by children. Each of TNLC’s core values are represented every week in varying and creative ways. We recognize that first:link is not the sole source of spiritual nourishment for children, and therefore we seek to partner with parents in creating a opportunities for kid’s spiritual development. Accordingly, the lessons we teach each week have firm foundations in Biblical truth, and take-home materials provide parents opportunities to be a key part of their children’s spiritual growth in the home. Each night in the elementary classes has a similar feel. While students are arriving, there is an art/craft activity set up. The continues with worship through singing, sometimes upstairs with the adults and sometimes in a kid’s worship time downstairs. Each age group does a Bible study and an associated learning activity. Some nights conclude with small group discussions and prayer, while others conclude with games and activities. |

| FIRST:LINK Safety: |
The safety of each child within first:link is important to The Next Level Church. To help ensure this, each of our Team Leaders is trained in Infant/Adult CPR and is required to have a national background check. The Next Level Church also has a Security Team which Patrols the entire facility, including first:link areas, to ensure a secure environment.
To help create a safe environment, we require two things of our parents:
- The first time children attend first:link, we ask parents to fill out a form that gives us emergency contact information and makes us aware of any special needs of the children.
- Each week at first:link, parents are required to sign their children in and out. Each child is given a numbered card that corresponds with the classroom they are in. Nursery kids are signed in at the nursery on the main floor, and primary and elementary children are signed in at the stairs leading down to the garden level. Children are picked up at their respective classrooms, and their numbered sign-in card is required in order to release each child. first:link begins signing children in at 6:45pm. All children should be signed out of first:link by 8:30pm.
Please see any Team Leader to answer questions or address any concerns regarding the safety procedures of first:link.

| FIRST:LINK Sick Policy: |
| In helping us to provide a safe and
healthy learning environment, we ask that you please do not bring your
child if he/she is sick. This includes, fever, runny nose, coughing,
pink eye or vomiting within the previous 24 hours etc. If your child is being treated for a sickness, they should
be on their medication for at least 24 hours prior to attending first:link. Parents are our best resource for keeping all of our kids healthy, so we thank you in advance for your commitment to maintaining high health standards in FirstLink.
Thank you for your help in providing a safe
and healthy environment for the kids and parents of first:link. |
